Orientation Special
$29 for 2 Private Lessons

(first time students only please)

Start Day: Easy - call or email us or drop in and watch any scheduled class to set up your first two 30 minute private lessons.

What to bring: You'll need loose, comfortable clothing, like sweat pants and a tee-shirt. Other than that, all you need is an open mind!

What to expect: First, a warm up with stretching and breathing exercises, then you'll learn basic stances, footwork and handwork, some of the basic attacks, easy falls, and one or two techniques. By the end of your first introductory class, you'll be doing aikido! After your second class, you'll be feeling more comfortable and confident "on the mat".

We make this special introduction and orientation available to the public for three reasons:

1) Aikido is a positive, healthy activity which can profoundly change peoples lives and the lives of those around them for the better in many ways

2) To give you a no-risk, low-stress chance to evaluate Aikido hands-on, and also to learn a few techniques

3) To give us a chance to get to know you a bit, and see if Aikido is right for you, before we invite you to join our dojo

The entry-level techniques and falls learned in the orientation class will be done slowly and gently, for obvious reasons. Later on, as your training progresses and your body becomes more strong and flexible as a result, you may do higher energy, faster moving techniques and falls.

In a few short months of training your limbs will get begin to get stronger, your cardiovascular fitness will improve. You will see positive changes in energy level, posture, flexibility, lower stress levels, and better focus and mental clarity. You can count on making some really good friends, in some different circles, maybe even lifetime friends.
